The Big Screen with No Barriers: Cinepolis Luxury Movie Theater

Cinepolis Luxury Movie Theaters is a movie theater chain that started in Michoacán, Mexico. This brand of theaters started opening up in the United States in early 2019. In this article I am going to talk about their Euless, TX location and all of their accessibility features from ticketing and parking to concessions and ADA seating.

Cinepolis Theaters are very accessible when it comes to the movie theater experience. The ticketing process for ADA seating is very simple and is all done through the Cinepolis website. Cinepolis theaters just like most of the theaters are now using a reserved seating method which just means that you can select where you want to sit. All ADA seats and ADA companion seats are labeled so you where they are located relative to the position of the screen.

Once you have bought tickets to go see a movie ADA parking at Cinepolis is located Infront of the building on either side of the entrance. All of the parking spots in front of the building are handicap parking spots so there is always enough space for a vehicle to lower a ramp for a wheelchair user without having to worry about if there is enough space for the wheelchair to get out of the vehicle. This theater is never really that busy so there is no need to worry about if there are available ADA parking spots. All ADA parking spaces are really close to the entrance of the theater. The only automatic doors at this theater are located at the left side of the front entrance, the rest of the doors are just regular manual doors.

After you entered the theater you need to print your tickets. Those machines are located on the left hand side of the entrance. If you need help using these machines or don't know how to use any of the employees walking around would be happy to help you out with printing your tickets out. The reason you have to print your tickets out is for the concessions (I will talk about concessions later in this article) stand since this theater delivers all of your food to your seat, the only thing you have to get yourself is your soda.

Now that you ordered your food and got your drink in hand it's time to go to your seat. Each theater room has ramps to get into those theater rooms. The ADA seating at all theaters including this one have an empty spot for a wheelchair and to either side of the wheelchair spot are the companion seats so if you went to the movies with someone they can sit next to you. If you ordered food or got a drink you can ask one of the employees for a tray table for the wheelchair spot so that way you can eat and drink by yourself without having to ask your companion for help. These tray tables that the theater provides are big enough to hold a large drink and two plated of food without problem. They are also height adjustable so if you have a shorter or taller wheelchair you can always adjust the tray table to your desired height.

If during your theater visit you need to use the restroom all restrooms have a dedicated handicap stall that can fit a large wheelchair and a companion to help you out comfortably. These handicap stalls are usually always available but sometimes they might be in use. If you notice that the person that's using the handicap stall doesn't need it you can either tell an employee that you need that stall and that it's being used by someone that shouldn't be using it and they will try to get that person out of the stall but the easiest option would be to go to one of the other restrooms inside of Cinepolis.

My personal experience at Cinepolis has overall been good. The first time I went was in September of 2022 to go watch Bullet Train. I decided to go to Cinepolis for this movie because it's closer to where I live and thought it would be a good idea to try out a new theater. As this was my first time going I wasn't sure what to expect. The entire process started out smooth but when I found out that they didn't have tray tables I was disappointed. I then talked to the manager about getting tray tables for the theater and she said that she would get them ordered so the next time I would go to their theater they would have them. In the mean time while I was there they came up with a temporary solution for me. Everyone there during my first time at Cinepolis were very accommodating. Fast forward to February of 2023 and I had decided to go again to watch Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantamania because the manager had invited me back because she said that they finally have those tray tables I asked for. While I'm in line for concessions the manager recognized me and again told me that they have those tray tables we had talked about and asked me what theater number and seat I had so that the could send the tray table to my seat. Once I saw and tried the tray table I noticed that the only accessibility complaint I had about this theater was fixed. The tray table really made my movie theater experience a lot better and I will definitely be using Cinepolis as my main movie theater.

Concessions at Cinepolis are very accessible to everybody and very accommodating to people in wheelchairs. The line for the concessions are usually empty so if you don't want to walk through the line you can always just go straight to the counter. In case the concessions stand is busy the line is spacious enough for a large wheelchair so you don't have to worry about running into anything while waiting in line. Once you have ordered your food at the counter and have paid with a card (most places only accept card ever since they reopened after the pandemic) you have to sign the receipt. The counter is at a reasonable height so if you are in a wheelchair you can sign but in case you can't reach they will either offer you a clipboard or will let you use one of the bar tables to sign the receipt. If you went by yourself and need help taking your drink and snacks to your seat you can always ask to have one of the employees take your stuff to your seat. Once you have your food you ordered at the concessions stand at your seat the silverware they give you are very light weight so if you have trouble holding heavy things you can try to use those or you can take your own plastic or travel silverware with you and if you have trouble with straight straws I would recommend taking either some reusable or plastic straws with you just in case.

The overall experience at Cinepolis for someone with disabilities is amazing. All of the accommodations put in place are great. Some other ADA features they have I forgor to mention earlier in this article are assisted listening devices, closed captioning, and naration of the action on screen. The rating of the accessibility features this theater provides is easily a 9/10. I would give it a perfect rating if they had automatic doors on both sides of the entrance and a more wheelchair accessible concession stand. Overall a great experience for an inclusive time out at the movies.
